What Your First Payout on ChikiPay Actually Looks Like

Every creator platform has a payout page that says “we pay weekly” without ever showing you what a week actually looks like. Where does the money sit between the sale and the deposit? What happens if a buyer disputes? Why does the deposit show up on a random Tuesday? Nobody explains it.

This post walks through the exact timeline of your first payout on ChikiPay. Every day is labeled. Every step is real. If a step confuses you, it’s a bug in our explanation, not in your understanding.

Day 0: The sale

A buyer completes checkout. CCBill processes their card. The money moves into our processor account. In your creator dashboard, you see a new sale within seconds:

Order #A47D-B29C · $30.00 · Buyer email · Autumn Solo Set

What’s happening under the hood: CCBill charges the card, subtracts the payment-processing fee (~2.9% + $0.30), and holds the remainder in a merchant account attached to your creator profile. The ChikiPay platform fee (15% flat) is separated out at this moment — not later.

What you see: the sale, timestamped, buyer’s masked email, and the after-fee amount that’s now “in transit” toward you. Nothing has moved to YOUR bank yet.

Timeline: the sale hits your dashboard within about 30 seconds of the buyer clicking Complete.

Days 1–4: The clearing window

Between the sale and the batch, one thing happens: the sale sits in your “pending” balance while CCBill’s dispute window opens. This isn’t a hold on your money — it’s the standard card-processor window during which a buyer could theoretically dispute the charge.

Why the delay exists: if a buyer contests the charge in the first 24 hours (“wrong card”), we’d rather subtract it from the pending balance than claw it back from your bank after the fact. This protects both of us from the awkward “we already paid you, please give it back” call.

What you can see: the dashboard shows the sale under “Pending — will batch Friday” so you always know what’s coming.

What if the buyer disputes: the sale flips to “Disputed” and gets subtracted from that week’s batch. If the dispute is later resolved in your favor, the amount is added to the next batch. If not, it’s a refund and the story ends there.

What if the buyer requests a refund voluntarily: same treatment. Refund lowers this week’s batch. The dashboard shows exactly which sales are being subtracted so nothing feels like a mystery deduction.

Day 5 (Friday): The batch

Every Friday at 12:00 PM Eastern, we run the batch job.

Here’s what it does:

  1. Sum every completed sale on your creator profile from the previous 7 days.
  2. Subtract every refund and dispute-resolved-in-buyer’s-favor from the same period.
  3. Apply the 15% ChikiPay platform fee to the net (if it hasn’t already been applied).
  4. Result = your batch total for this Friday.

What you see: on Friday morning, your dashboard shows a “Batch closes at 12:00 PM ET” banner. Everything above that time is in this week’s batch; everything after rolls to next week.

Why Friday: it lands your money in your bank early the following week, which is when most creators plan their spending. Not Friday afternoon, when you’re already checked out.

Why 12:00 PM ET specifically: it’s the deadline our ACH partner uses to guarantee a next-Tuesday deposit. Later cutoffs mean later deposits.

Day 8 (Tuesday): The deposit

Tuesday morning, the batched amount hits your bank.

Your bank shows a single ACH deposit with the description “CHIKIPAY PAYOUT” and a reference number matching the batch. The amount is the batch total from the previous Friday. That’s it. One line per week.

What you see in your dashboard: the payout moves from “Batched — arriving Tuesday” to “Paid — Statement available.” You can download a PDF statement showing every sale, every refund, every fee that went into this payout, and reconcile against your bank.

Why Tuesday and not Monday: Monday deposits require Friday’s ACH to run through the weekend — most banks don’t process on Saturday or Sunday, so a “Monday deposit” would functionally arrive Tuesday anyway. We just call it Tuesday so the timeline is honest.

Days 8–onward: The rhythm

That’s the whole thing. Sale → 4-day clearing → Friday batch → Tuesday deposit.

Every subsequent week works the same way. No surprises. No moving thresholds. No minimum-balance-before-payout. If you sell $12 in a week, you get a $12 payout the following Tuesday (minus a $2.15 platform fee).

The exception: your first payout only. Because your first sale started the clearing window, the first payout might land 1-2 days later than the pattern suggests — we hold new-creator accounts for one extra business day as a fraud-prevention measure. After that, the rhythm is exactly as described.

What we won’t do

There are three payout patterns other platforms use that we specifically won’t:

  1. Minimum payout thresholds (“we hold your money until you reach $100”). Nope. If you earned $12, you get $12.
  2. Rolling reserves (“we hold 10% of every payout for 90 days for chargebacks”). Nope. Chargebacks are subtracted per week from the week they happen. No held cash.
  3. Fee-per-payout (“$2 per deposit”). Nope. The 15% platform fee is the only fee we charge. Deposits are free.

If we ever add any of these, it’ll be explained on a page like this one, before it happens.

What you can do while you wait for your first payout

Day 0 through Day 8 is a week. That’s a while when you’re new. Two things worth doing in that week:

  1. Watch the dashboard to see the sale progress through the states (Pending → Batched → Paid). It demystifies the timeline in a way this blog post can’t.
  2. Set your bank up to notify you when the deposit lands. Most banks will send a push notification for any deposit over $10. The dopamine of that first “CHIKIPAY PAYOUT” push is real. Enjoy it.

Bottom line

Sale → 4 days → Friday batch at noon ET → Tuesday deposit. Every week the same. 15% fee, no thresholds, no reserves, no per-deposit charges. Statement available for every payout.

Your first Tuesday morning notification is worth the wait.
